I am absolutely appalled at the news I often heard from the television recently about the baby thrown in the garbage at an abortion clinic, even the government law, such what happened in Nebraska (New Abortion Law in Nebraska on Fetal Pain ) legalize this evil works. I am so sick to my stomach and I cannot believe that this is what our society has become.
Helloo….! Babies, though yet unborn are, in fact, real human beings! This just proves that many of the pro-choice people really don’t think of these aborted babies as real, live babies.
I’m sorry but I am furious about this, I am absolutely sickened. May God have mercy on the souls of the unborn and may their mothers be brought to repentance… I think it’s important to note that all sins are forgiven if a person truly repents.
Icon of Abortion
Christ holds a scroll that reads “Let the children come to Me” and gives His blessing
The woman in the bottom left corner is the woman who does not abort; she is an unmarried mother and the child is her cross to bear
next to her is “the blessed family” a husband and wife raising their children together
the medusa like queen is called the “New Herod” which is abortion, the girls bringing their babies to her are (starting with the one with fishnet stockings and pink hair) “love of fornication”, “ignorance”, “carelessness” and “hard-hearted”; they bring their children to her through the doctor depicted directly behind her (notice the money in his pocket)
the angel above the abortion is mourning the souls of the children
Panagia (the milk-giver) is shown nursing the Christ child; St. Stylianos is next to her with a child since he is known to be a protector of children and holds a scroll that reads “protect your children-they are the gift of Christ”
the girl down in the bottom center who is bleeding is one who aborts but repents and prays for the soul of her child; she too will be forgiven for God’s mercy.I think the most important thing we can do is help raise awareness on this subject and pray for both the children and women who are victims of this heinous act.
O Holy St.Stylianos, pray for the soul of those unborn babies who killed by their parents,to Christ our God for His Great Mercy
It's very good stuff as reference for me as a parishioner of Orthodox Church
Rules of behavior in Orthodox Church - Etika Sikap dalam Gereja Orthodox The sanctity of the Church requires that we have an attitude of reverence. The Apostles says, " Let all things be done decently and in order," when Christians gather fo prayer (1 Cor.14:40) To this end the following rules have been laid down for guidance.
To derive spiritual gain from going to Church, it is very important to put ourselves into a prayerful mood on the way to Church. Consider that we are going to be standing before the King of Heaven, before Whom billions of Angels and saints stand with trembling.
To those who approach Him reverently the Lord is not terrifying; rather, He mercifully calls all to Himself, saying, " Come to Me, all ye who labor and heavy laden, and I will give you rest" ( Matt. 11:28) Tranquility, strength, and enlightenment of soul --- these are what we get in coming to Church . )
To come to Church we should wear clean and appropriate clothing, as required by the holiness of the place. Women should exercise Christian modesty and decency and not come in dresses that are too short or revealing or in slacks. Even before entering the Church they should wipe off their lipstick, so that when they kiss the icons, the chalice or the Cross they do not leave behind the red imprint of their lips.
On entering the Church, we should make the sign of the Cross in an unhurried manner, kissing the icon and make a bow towards the altar, saying, " God, be merciful to me, a sinner," or " O God, cleanse me, a sinner, and have mercy on me" ( Saat memasuki Gereja, kita segera membuat tanda Salib tanpa tergesa-gesa, mencium ikon dan membungkuk ke arah altar, dan berdoa, " Ya Allah, kasihanilah aku, orang berdosa," atau " Ya Allah, tahirkanlah aku, seorang yang berdosa, dan kasihanilah aku." )
Next buy or take one /several candles and place them before icons, as an offering to God. If we have come for the Divine Liturgy, take a prosphora and have it taken to the priest with a list of names or a book of commemoration, to remember those near and dear to us by praying for the health and salvation of the living and the repose of the deceased.
After we have venerated the patronal icon of the church, and such other icons as you wish, go quietly inside without disturbing anyone, to the place in the church where we are going to stand in prayer during the service. If we pass before the royal doors, reverently make the sign of the Cross and bow towards the altar. It is customary since long time a go for men to stand on the right side of the church and women on the left. Do not linger in the narthex, since otheres will be coming in. )
Always come to Church for the beginning of the service. If for some serious reason we happen to be late, try not to disturb the prayer of those who have come earlier. If you enter the church during the reading of the Gospel, during the singing of the Cherubic Hymn, during the Eucharistic Canon ( from "It is meet and right" to " It is truly meet") or during the Lord's Prayer, remain in the narthex until these most important parts of the Liturgy are finished and only then go quietly to your place.
If we see friends and acquaintances in Church, greet them with a silent bow. NEVER stop to shake hands or ask questions even if they are our closest friends. While we are standing church, do not be curious, do not stare at those around us. NEVER, under any circumstances, indulge in private conversations or jokes in Church, that is a sin.
While in Church we should stand, not sit. Only if we are ill or very weak is it permitted to sit down. If we sit down NEVER cross our leg for it is inappropriate to do in front of the altar.
Pray as one who is taking part in the Church service, not merely attending it. Let all the prayers and hymns come from our heart.
When we hear the words of a blessing directed to the congregation (e.g." Peace be unto all," or " The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ..." ) , bow our head, WITHOUT making the sign of the Cross. Likewise, respond to the censing with a bow of the head. ) , tundukan kepala kita TANPA membuat tanda Salib. Begitu juga ketika Romo mendupai kita, cukup tundukan kepala )
DO NOT leave the Church until the end of the service. Otherwise, we show disrespect for the holiness of the house of God and distract others from prayer. ( JANGAN meninggalkan Gereja sampai akhir liturgi.
Approach Holy Communion with reverence. Cross our hands over our breast, tith the left hand over the right. Having received Communion, return to our place, giving thanks to God. Women should approach the chalice with their heads covered and without lipstick .
If we see anyone who is not dressed properly, or who is violating these rules of behavior, tell the warden od his assistant about it. DO NOT make remarks to them or others in Church.
On leaving the Church, make the sign of the Cross. For the rest of the day strive to guard the grace which you have received in Church. )

by Bishop Alexander (Mielant); Translated by Seraphim Larin / Fr. Herman
Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ, From all my heart I greet you on the greatest of all of the Feasts —the day of the radiant Resurrection of Christ —with the eternal, and never--ceasing joyous words: Christ is Risen! The Resurrection of Christ is the greatest event in history and also is the fundamental truth and absolute fact of the Christian faith.
It is the central experience and essential sermon of the Church. It is what distinguishes Christianity from every other religion. The other religions have mortal leaders, while the head of the Church is the risen Jesus Christ. The Resurrection of Christ is the renewal of human nature and the recreation of the human race. Christ, risen from the dead, cracked the fortress of death and took “captivity captive” (Ps 67:17). All the limitations of our createdness are torn asunder. Death is swallowed up in victory and life is liberated. “For as by a man came death, by a man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Cor. 15:21--22). Pascha is the dawn of the new and unending day of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! The Resurrection of Christ bestows illumination, energizes souls, brings forgiveness, transfigures lives, creates saints and gives eternal joy. We can share in and experience the resurrection of Christ in two ways. First, it is the source for the continual mystical and spiritual regeneration of our dead souls. Second, it is the cause of our resurrection from the dead on the Last Day. The miracle of Pascha and the consequences of Christ’s resurrection, the gift of eternity and plenitude, are always accessible to everyone. But we have to emphasize the truth that salvation is accomplished only in perfect freedom, through an act of faith. No one can be compelled to believe in or to love God. To receive the grace of the Paschal mystery and to keep it operative in us we must want to engage ourselves actively and creatively in the godly life by the power of the Holy Spirit. We express our will to join the risen Christ if we decide to follow in our lives the spiritual struggle of repentance. We have to choose to leave our love united to the life of the flesh whose end is death and corruption. We have to crucify our love for the flesh to the Cross of Christ. On Holy Thursday and on Great Friday we heard that our Lord Jesus Christ “in His surpassing love showed us the most excellent way of humility.” and “He is who endured spitting and scourging and blows, the Cross and death, for the salvation of the world.”. So, if we want to find salvation and to unite ourselves to risen Christ, we have to walk on the path of humility, sufferings, and repentance. However, we often forget that salvation does not come as a result of individualistic piety, but through a living and dynamic relationship with the Church. As baptized devout members of the Church we become part of a community which is moving together towards the Kingdom of God. It is this community which affirms and defines our Christian identity. In and through the Church we appropriate the transforming power of the death and resurrection of Christ, which places upon us the obligation to actualize the renunciations demanded of us by the Gospel in our everyday activities. The fruits of Christ’s saving death and resurrection are granted to us and are accomplished especially through the sacraments. Through them the new life is extended and given to the members of His body, the Church. The sacraments prepare the faithful for the resurrectional life and simultaneously make that life a living reality in this present age. Through them Christ calls us to share intimately in what is divine: immortality and incorruptibility. He sends and grants us the Holy Spirit, who continually vivifies our souls and actualizes within us the hidden mysteries of God’s kingdom, joining us to God in a personal union.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, On this joyful day of Pascha, rejoice in the risen Lord! Bear with spiritual joy the lighted Paschal Candles and with your devout lives “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” From my heart I pray that the Risen Lord bless you all, and generously bestow on you the life--giving Light of His grace. With my warmest Paschal wishes and love in the Risen Christ,
Nektarios Metropolitan of Hong Kong and Southeast Asia
"With You, Lord, I will flee, that I may gain in You Life in every place.
The prison with You is no prison, for in You man goes up into Heaven.
The grave with You is no grave, for You are the Resurrection (cf.Jn. 11:25)!"
Bersama Engkau, kuburan bukanlah kuburan, sebab Engkaulah Kebangkitan. (cf.Jn.11:25)!"

Untuk seluruh umat Gereja:
Berkat, Rahmat dan Damai dari Kristus Juruslamat yang telah Bangkit dalam Kemuliaan.
B A R T H O L O M E W
By the Grace of God,
Archbishop of Constantinople-New Rome
and Ecumenical Patriarch,
To all the Faithful of the Church:
Grace, mercy, and peace from Christ the Savior Risen in Glory
* * *
Saudara-saudara terkasih, anak-anak di dalam Tuhan,
Beloved brothers and sisters, dear children in the Lord
Kristus telah Bangkit!
Christ is Risen!
Once again, the sacred day of Pascha has dawned in full delight and splendor, dispersing joy, comfort, gladness and assurance of life to all faithful, despite the heavy atmosphere that prevails in our world on account of the multidimensional crisis with all its familiar painful consequences for our daily life.
Tirani kematian milik masa lalu.
Christ has risen from the tomb as divinely human; and humanity has risen with Him! The tyranny of death belongs to the past. The hopelessness of hades’ captivity has irrevocably gone. The only powerful Giver of life, having through His Incarnation voluntarily assumed all of the misfortune of our nature and all that it entails, namely death, has already “brought death to hades by the lightning of divinity,”[1] granting us life – and “life in abundance.” (John 10.10)
This abundance of life, which was granted to us by the Risen Lord, is ceaselessly slandered and assaulted by the devil – indeed, these actions are the source of his very name – although he is now weakened, completely powerless, and entirely ridiculous.
The devil slanders Life by means of the hubris that still prevails in the world against God, humanity and the creation. The devil assaults Life by means of the sinful tendency that exists within us like “old rust,” using this to entrap us either into tangible sin or delusional belief.
Hubris is the offspring of that “rust”, while both comprise the sinister couple responsible for disrupting relationships within ourselves, with others, as well as with God and the whole creation. Accordingly, it is imperative that we purify ourselves of this rust with great attentiveness and carefulness in order that the profuse life-giving light of the Risen Christ may shine in our mind, soul and body, so that it may in turn dispel the darkness of hubris and pour the “abundance” of life to all the world.
This cannot be achieved by philosophy, science, technology, art, or any ideology; it can only be achieved through faith in what God has condescended for us human beings through His Passion, Crucifixion and Burial, descending to the depths of hades and rising from the dead as the divine-human Jesus Christ.
It is also expressed in the sacramental life of the Church as well as through laborious and systematic spiritual struggle. The Church, as the Body of Christ, unceasingly and to the ages experiences the miracle of the Resurrection; through its sacred Mysteries, its Theology and its practical teachings, it offers us the possibility of participating in that miracle, of sharing in the victory over death, of becoming children shaped by the light of the Resurrection and truly “partakers of divine nature.” (2 Peter 1.4), just as in the life of every Saint in the past and present.
The thorny weeds of passions growing within the depths of our heart, polluted by the rust of “the old self” (Eph. 4.22) must definitely be transformed as soon as possible in Christ, through Christ and for the sake of Christ and His living images that surround us – namely, our fellow human beings – into a bouquet of virtues, holiness, and righteousness. Hence, the sacred hymnographer chants in timely manner: “Let us put on the robe of righteousness, which is whiter than snow, and let us rejoice today in the day of the Pascha; for Christ, the sun of righteousness that rises from the dead, has showered upon us the light of incorruption.”
usaha
[2] The white garment of righteousness was given to us symbolically on the day of our Baptism; and we are invited to cleanse it continually through constant repentance, control of desires, patience in life’s pain, and relentless effort to fulfill the commandments of God, and especially the supreme commandment of love. In this way, we are able to participate in the cross-bearing self-emptying of Christ, in order that the Paschal gladness, radiant light, and joyful salvation may enter our life and world.
We address this from the Phanar, where we experience the suffering of Holy Friday and the light of the Resurrection, as we express to you the affection of the Mother Church, wholeheartedly wishing for all the saving gift and Paschal blessing of the Lord of Life, who rose from the dead.

Holy Pascha 2010
Fervent supplicant for all before the Lord
+ Bartholomew of Constantinople
If anyone is devout and a lover of God, let them enjoy this beautiful and radiant festival.
If anyone is a grateful servant, let them, rejoicing, enter into the joy of his Lord.
If anyone has wearied themselves in fasting, let them now receive recompense.
If anyone has labored from the first hour, let them today receive the just reward.
Christ entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday
If anyone has come at the third hour, with thanksgiving let them feast.
If anyone has arrived at the sixth hour, let them have no misgivings; for they shall suffer no loss.
If anyone has delayed until the ninth hour, let them draw near without hesitation.
If anyone has arrived even at the eleventh hour, let them not fear on account of tardiness.
For the Lord is gracious and receives the last even as the first; he gives rest to him that comes at the eleventh hour, just as to him who has labored from the first.
He has mercy upon the last and cares for the first; to the one he gives, and to the other he is gracious.
Behold, The Bridegroom will come! - Great Monday
He both honors the work and praises the intention. Enter all of you, therefore, into the joy of our Lord, and, whether first or last, receive your reward. O rich and poor, one with another, dance for joy! O you ascetics and you negligent, celebrate the day!
St. Kassiani - Great Wednesday
You that have fasted and you that have disregarded the fast, rejoice today!
The table is rich-laden; feast royally, all of you!
The calf is fatted; let no one go forth hungry!
Christ washes the foot of the Apostles - Great Thursday
The last supper - Great Thursday
Let all partake of the feast of faith. Let all receive the riches of goodness.
Let no one lament their poverty, for the universal kingdom has been revealed.
Let no one mourn their transgressions, for pardon has dawned from the grave.
Let no one fear death, for the Saviour's death has set us free.
Crucifixion - Great Friday
He that was taken by death has annihilated it!
He descended into Hades and took Hades captive!
He embittered it when it tasted his flesh! And anticipating this Isaiah exclaimed: "Hades was embittered when it encountered thee in the lower regions".
Epithapios - Great Friday
It was embittered, for it was abolished!
It was embittered, for it was mocked!
It was embittered, for it was purged!
It was embittered, for it was despoiled!
It was embittered, for it was bound in chains!
It took a body and came upon God!
It took earth and encountered heaven!
It took what it saw but crumbled before what it had not seen!
O death, where is thy sting? O Hades, where is thy victory?
Christ is risen, and you are overthrown!
Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen!
Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice!
Christ is risen, and life reigns!
Christ is risen, and not one dead remains in a tomb!
Resurrection - Holy Pascha
For Christ, being raised from the dead, has become the first-fruits of them that slept.
To him be glory and might unto ages of ages. Amen!

"Orthodoxy is the Church of Christ on earth. The Church of Christ is not an institution; it is a new life with Christ and in Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit. Christ, the Son of God, came to earth, was made man, uniting His divine life with that of humanity. This divine-human life He gave to His brethren, who believe on His name. Although He died and rose again and ascended into heaven, He was not separated from His humanity, but remains in it. The light of the resurrection of Christ lights the Church, and the joy of resurrection, of the triumph over death, fills it. The risen Lord lives with us and our life in the Church is a mysterious life in Christ."
Sergius Bulgakov, The Orthodox Church
It is Orthodox but NOT jewish, It is Catholic but NOT roman, It is Evangelist but NOT protestant. It is the Church who founded by Jesus Christ Himself since 33 AD. No need to be changed NOR be reformed because He is the Alpha and The Omega.
